Ministry Before the Mission Field:

Their ministry started in Hutchinson, Kansas working with the youth, where the youth group grew from 13 to 60 in one year and five of them ended up going to Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.  While attending Bible College, Rudy pastored White Oak Baptist Church in Marshfield, Missouri.  Rudy and Lorraine were approved on May 20, 1958 to open the field of Peru for the Baptist Bible Fellowship.

Current Ministry in Peru:

After attending the Spanish Language School in Costa Rica, they moved on to Lima, Peru on July 6, 1960 to start their ministry there.

On October 18, 1960 they started their first church where they stayed for 16 years.  They saw the church grow from 25 to 1,400 and from that church they started 15 others.  At the same time they also started a Bible Seminary, which they directed for 11 years.

They were then asked to move to Miami, Florida to start Spanish churches and a Bible College.  That church is now pastored by their son, Russell, and is a bilingual church with 30 different nationalities attending.  Their daughter, Janet, also works there with the music and accounting.  Their younger son is now a missions pastor at a church in California.

Rudy and Lorraine returned to Peru in 1991, invited by the President of Peru.  They have been serving there since that time.  At the present they are living near Cusco, Peru at 9,600 feet in the Andes Mountains where they have a camp, a bilingual School, and they are now in the process of starting a new church in the town of Pisac, where the camp is located.

On November 11, 2000 Rudy received the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor from the government of Peru for 50 years of service in the country.
