Peter & Zorka Abrman

Peter and Zorka have three children, Rachel, Samuel and Ashley.

Salvation Testimony for Peter & Zorka:

Peter: I was born in Slovakia while she was still a communist country.  My parents, knowing the power of prayer and promises of God, bought a “family vacation” house to be used as a youth camp by the underground churches.  Before they could realize, lo, and behold, the very first sinner to find Christ there was their own son – me!  The Lord had graciously fulfilled the desires of their hearts.  That happened on Monday, August 6th, 1973.  Since then to this day, I have assurance of my salvation, which I have received by faith.  By faith in Christ and His work what He did for me on the cross of Calvary.  The Bible is so clear about it and the Holy Spirit bears the witness to it in my heart.

Zorka: I grew up in Slovakia, in a Christian family, not knowing God’s plan for my life.  I got saved in 1970 on Christmas day in Nitra, Slovakia in the house of our youth pastor.  As a girl going to church 3-4 times a week I heard a lot about God and the Scripture.  Many nights I went to sleep afraid that my parents would one day disappear and I would go to hell.  More than once I checked bedrooms during the night to see if my parents and sister were still there.  I will never forget that moment when Jesus came to my heart.  It was like a heavy stone fell off from my heart.  I knew that Jesus could come at any time and I would see my Savior.

Ministry Training:

Peter:  My formal ministry training took place under the leadership of Pastor Dr. John Gross at North Park Baptist Church, Humble, Texas in 1995-1999 as a layman.  During this time, September 1998 – May 1999, I attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.

Ministry Before the Mission Field:

Before going to the mission field in 1999, we organized youth camps and retreats in Slovakia between 1992 and 1999, usually twice a year.

Current Ministry in Slovakia:

Currently, our ministry includes overseeing church activities such as Sunday services, preaching and teaching, summer camps, weekend youth retreats, and Bible seminars. Both of us are involved a lot in personal counseling, mostly teenagers, young adults and young married couples.  For the last 10 years, Zorka has organized weeklong ladies camps and weekend ladies conferences, each once a year.

Sending Church/Mission Board:

Our sending church is North Park Baptist Church, Humble, Texas

Our support comes mostly from Baptist Bible Fellowship churches.  The BBFI missions office in Springfield, Missouri handles the proceeds.
